Time management can be considered in two ways:
-Managing your preparation time.
-Managing your teaching time.

-Don't spend too much time on any one portion of your lesson.
-Keep transitions tight and seamless.
-Keep students engaged with student-centered activities and practice (the longest portion of your lesson).
-Have an anchor activity to allow for long-term projects where students can work independently when they finish other work early.
-Keep direct instruction short. – Lessons should be MINI lessons for as long in minutes as the students are in age (ex - 8 year-olds should get about an 8 minute mini lesson).
-Be sure expectations and objectives are clear.
