Preparedness
Over plan!
1) Be sure to have plenty to fill the class period, but be sure that each activity can stop and start in order to have proper closure.
2) Have materials and lessons well planned and created ahead of time. This keeps the class focused, attentive, and the flow seamless.
3) Work together! Divide up chores such as lesson creation, rubric development, and activity formation with your grade level colleagues!
4) Have anchor activities always ready to go in case there is a kink in plans or students finish planned work early.
5) Technology is your friend! Use it to prepare yourself and engage students...all in support of a well managed class.
